Day 01: Arrival to Lima
The 9-day Inca Trail trek begins in the capital of Peru. Welcome to Lima! Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in Miraflores.
Note: On the first day, there are no scheduled activities, and you may arrive at any time. This gives you the freedom to explore Lima at your own pace.
Lima, better known as the City of Kings, offers many fascinating tourist attractions. These include the main square (Plaza de Armas), home to the Lima Cathedral and the House of Pizarro, who founded the city in 1535. The city’s colonial architecture and historic streets transport visitors back in time. You may also visit Pachacamac, an important pre-Inca archaeological site located just outside the city.
In the Miraflores district, one of Lima’s most popular tourist areas, you can visit Larcomar and enjoy stunning views of the Pacific Ocean, stroll through the Love Park (Parque del Amor), and explore other nearby attractions. In the afternoon, you can relax and enjoy the coastal parks.
Lima is also renowned for its diverse gastronomy. You can taste traditional dishes such as ceviche and other Peruvian specialties, many of which are based on fresh seafood due to the city’s coastal location. You will have free time to explore on your own, and if you would like to add a day tour in Lima, please contact our sales department. We will be happy to arrange an additional Lima experience for you.
