Our routes span altitudes ranging from 3,200 to 4,850 meters (10,500 to 15,900 feet), showcasing the breathtaking landscapes of the Andean peaks. At Machu Picchut Travel, we ensure our dining facilities are comfortable and well-organized, regardless of group size. For larger groups, we use spacious dining tents with a capacity of up to 20 people. These tents are designed to accommodate comfortable tables and chairs, giving everyone enough room to enjoy their meals properly.
We also maintain separate, dedicated kitchen tents where our trekking chefs prepare all your meals. For smaller groups of up to 8 people, we utilize a large, versatile tent that we divide into two functional areas: one for cooking and one for dining. This setup is particularly effective in the Andes; the heat generated from the kitchen area helps keep the dining section warm during cold nights or rainy days, creating a pleasant environment for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

At Machu Picchut Travel, we prioritize a restful night's sleep to ensure you are energized for the trail. We provide professional-grade sleeping bags rated to -5°C (23°F), filled with high-quality feather for superior insulation during cold Andean nights.
Hygiene is our top priority. Every sleeping bag, along with our cotton inner sheets, is professionally washed and disinfected after each trek. For the Inca Trail and alternative routes, we include these cotton liners as standard. On higher-altitude treks like Ausangate, we provide additional fleece liners to ensure you stay warm in more extreme conditions.
We also provide inflatable or foam pillows with fresh, clean pillowcases, so you can travel lighter and rest better. Our sleeping setup is completed with inflatable sleeping mats, which feature cotton covers. These covers prevent your sleeping bag from slipping on the mat, providing the stability needed for a good night's sleep.
Finally, to add an extra layer of warmth, our team provides hot water bottles every evening. These airtight bottles are designed to be placed inside your sleeping bag, keeping your feet warm throughout the night in our campsites.
To ensure you are fully prepared for the trail, Machu Picchut Travel provides a rain poncho, a pair of hiking poles, and a duffel bag. We ask that you pack your personal belongings in the duffel bag, which our porters or pack horses will carry throughout the hike.
Radio Communication: Our guides and trekking chefs use professional radios to coordinate our logistics and monitor trail conditions. These radios maintain contact with the Ministry of Culture, SERNANP, and local authorities. In the event of an emergency, our team is equipped to contact these institutions immediately to request assistance.
Oxygen Supplies: For high-altitude treks, our guides carry portable oxygen tanks. This equipment is kept close at hand to ensure your safety and provide support if you experience symptoms related to altitude sickness.
First Aid Kit: Every guide carries a comprehensive, mission-ready first aid kit. Our staff is trained to manage basic medical needs and handle emergencies that may arise on the trail, ensuring you are in safe hands at all times.
